How Motivation Drives Performance – Star Profile

July 27, 2010 at 8:15 am Leave a comment

So we’ve seen how Creators, those who are driven by innovation, can maintain and increase their motivation levels. Now let’s take a look at the Star.

If you have Star as one of your top motivators, you need to be recognised, admired and respected by the community at large.  Consequently you enjoy winning the ‘employee of the month’ award, or receiving that email from your boss telling you – but more importantly, everyone else – what a fantastic job you have done.

So what can you do if you’re not getting noticed?  Firstly ask yourself if you are getting out enough, as you will love the recognition that networking in peer groups, or more senior groups can bring.  Is there somewhere you could deliver a presentation for your organisation that will bring you public praise, both from within your company and also externally?   If your boss doesn’t like giving presentations then offer to do one for them – look out for those opportunities to get in front of wider audiences.
